The change status feature allows the officer a means to show what they are doing without having to report every instance. Officers are able to change their status to display if they are on a call, available, addressing a suspicious person, or even in distress. When an officer is in distress they would switch to “requesting backup” and an audible alert would be sent to all available units including dispatchers.
